Ramón Fortuna is a fifteen-year-old teenager who never knew his father and has grown up overprotected by four women: his real mother and the "substitute ones". After he becomes involved in the death of several people, he is sent to an institution until the facts are clarified. Little by little he discovers that everything he has been told about his family is a lie. Instead of trying to prove his innocence, his new goal in life is to rid himself of the web of deception that keeps him from seeing who he really is.
Elvira Lindo describes with great sensitivity the day-to-day life of a neighborhood in which extreme marginality coexists with young people who have fun, suffer, love and, above all, hope for better times.
Elvira Lindo's first novel for adults, a simple and sensitive work. 2018 marked the 20th anniversary of the publication of a novel that has become a classic of Spanish literature.
